About Bert Johnson

I'm a lifelong software engineer and entrepreneur. I've been fortunate to consult for organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 leaders in a variety of industries, including finance, healthcare, and e-commerce. I'm passionate about helping businesses innovate through modern technologies.

I'm the principal consultant for Dev Inc and I oversee all projects. I'm a hands-on leader with skills spanning development, data, infrastructure, security, and business analysis. I enjoy both high-level strategy and deeply technical work. I take pride in maximizing security, performance, reliability, and the user experience of everything I work on.

Before founding Dev Inc, I was Chief Architect for AHEAD. Prior to that, I consulted on cloud strategy and developed product MVPs as founder of Allcloud.com. Earlier, I held senior engineering and architecture leadership positions at several companies, including Director of Cloud for BlueMetal (an Insight company). I've partnered closely with and delivered large-scale projects alongside Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. I'm a Computer Science graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
